Oho Ake

Oho Ake was first exhibited at Te Tuhi Art Gallery in 2016.

Oho Ake – Development of the Ford Cortina.

Developments of the Mark III Ford Cortina asset from the Oho Ake Project. (2015). Made in conjunction with animation assistant AJ Shirley.

I chose to develop the cortina as it was our family car. Memory was heavily influential in developing the Oho Ake project. The car was how we literally negotiated the distances of culture. At least in those days. Now cultural memory can be accessed through audio, digital images & video. Digitally recreated & re-interpreted to become a new vehicle for cultural understanding, to make a statement or tell a story.
